Bill Morris is a songwriter based in Port Chalmers, Otago. He grew up in the high country of the South Island of New Zealand and has travelled widely as a musician, filmmaker and writer. His music is drawn from the stories of the land and sea; the poetry of the landscape and the lives it holds.
Bill’s songs are folk songs with a distinct New Zealand voice. His music is influenced by everything from punk to reggae. Some of his songs are rock and roll stompers, others are haunting country ballads.
Bill’s debut album is called “Mud,” and is due in September 2012. He has recorded the album in Dunedin with Robert Scott (The Bats, The Clean) Rob Falconer (Operation Rolling Thunder) and many other prominent musicians from the city.
Bill Morris performs with his band the Mark IVs. Phone: 021 2226823
