Gig Information

Native Tongue Music Publishing and Spunk Records are proud to present a showcase of soul-stirring, heart-melting songwriting. Come down on a Sunday afternoon for some callous-worn country, some soulful ballads, a reeling rolling musical melange.

~ WAGONS ~

A MODERN-DAY CLASSIC and a throwback to karmic country's golden era, Wagons is celebrating the release of his brand-new collaborative album Expecting Company, which also features artists as diverse as Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Gossling and Robert Forster.

Inspired by the most twisted aspects of traditional country music and flea-bitten Wild West novels, Henry will serenade you with his insightful songwriting and deep baritone. His songs are regularly punctuated by his unique style of commentary which regularly delights his audience. Capable of switching between the deepest romantic sentiment to the depths of grief all in the course of a song or two, Henry's show is one of the most entertaining solo shows involving one man and his acoustic guitar.

~ MARLON WILLIAMS & DELANEY DAVIDSON ~

Fresh from melting hearts across the country with the Lyttelton Rough House Revival, Marlon Williams and Delaney Davidson are making a special appearance in Auckland prior to the release of their upcoming collaborative album Sad But True.

Delaney describes himself as part man part wheel as he rolls his never-ending tour around Europe and the Americas. Already this year Delaney has won the Apra Country Music Song of the Year which tops a twelve month loop where he was also a final five nominee for the 2011’s APRA Silver Scrolls and garnered stunning reviews of his ‘Bad Luck Man’ album (including five stars from the UK’s guardian newspaper).

Joining the mighty Davidson on stage will be Marlon Williams lead singer and songwriter from Lyttelton's Unfaithful Ways. Barely creeping into of his twenties, Marlon has been fêted nation wide as the great young hope of country music. The Unfaithful Ways’ debut album ‘Free Rein’ climbed every notable end of year best list and his songwriting talent was again noticed when he was nominated for song and album at this years apra country music awards.

~ EMMA RUSSACK ~

Emma Russack's debut album, Sounds of Our City displays an overarching theme of change and renewal – borne from Emma's first experiences living in Melbourne following a year of travelling through South America. With its combination of low-fidelity folk and blues and hushed, intimate balladry, Sounds of Our City is a unified collection of Emma's most accomplished songwriting to date.
