Min•a•ret [min-uh-ret]
Noun - a vantage point used to speak to ones people.
Music is a means of communication. This is the philosophy Minaret was founded on, a live interaction between band and audience where a shared path is travelled. Through this idea their music has developed and evolved into a universal studio and dance floor experience. The up and comers, Minaret, are fusing this experience to a future New Zealand sound incorporating NZ Dub, Dubstep, Neo-Soul, Drum and Bass, Funk, Electronica and House. Their live show brings lush soundscapes, earth shattering bass, beastly drum grooves and healthy dose of soulful vocals.
The forthcoming album ‘Purusha’ was recorded between Jan-‐March 2012, it is currently being mixed and will be released later in the year. The first single ‘Games’ is avaliable now from Minaret’s bandcamp page – minaret.bandcamp.com.
The show at San Francisco Bath House will showcase the band and special guests performing songs from the forthcoming album, as well as support from Auckland based producer Eboshi and Wellington Producer/DJ Ethixx!

Jess Jones -‐ Vocals (Minaret), Micah Livesay – Guitar/APC (Minaret/Eboshi), Ricky Simmonds – Drums/Percussion (Minaret/Circuitry Of The Wolf), Leighton Grinstead – Bass Guitar (Circuitry Of The Wolf) + Phoebe Hurst – Vocals, Carlos Navae -‐ Vocals and Imon Starr.
