Paul McLaney hasn't played a solo show in a long time. Luckily, when asked kindly, he said yes, so we're quite over the moon and you're in for a bit of an aural treat!
His past collaborations include Concord Dawn, Anika Moa, Module, Rhian Sheehan, James Duncan, Fly My Pretties and SJD, as well as of course his own project Gramsci, more recently the gorgeous, atmospheric Gestalt, plus numerous others - too many to write them all down here.
From curious stints in Japanese hotels, English pubs, Danish jazz clubs, and most recently a series of performances and music video shoot in New York, Lisa has travelled the world getting by on a song, quite literally. It’s little wonder that she has been hand picked to tour in New Zealand with artists as varied as John Mayer, Jools Holland, Nathan Haines, Julia Deans and Paul Weller, scoring rave reviews wherever she pops up. Lisa is one of New Zealand’s songwriters to watch, already having won the international ‘Pacific Songwriting Competition’ and has recently been nominated for a Silver Scroll award for the catchy single “Leaving”.
You may know former Dunedin boy Anthonie Tonnon as the frontman of Tono & The Finance Company, but here he will be performing solo. No doubt we'll hear witty observations in shape of songs, taking you for a walk through his world.
