Gig Information

R&B legends Adeaze are set to rock David Lange Park with support from Giantkilla and Mixt Frequencies as part of Auckland Council's Music in Parks 2013 series.

Architects of their own sound featuring soaring harmonies and emotional songwriting far beyond their years, Adeaze are a new movement in the sound of contemporary R&B music. With a double platinum first album and a second album ‘Rise and Shine’ packed with distinct harmonies, crafty songwriting skills and a gloriously upbeat tempo, Adeaze recently triumphed at the 2012 Pacific Music Awards scooping Best Pacific Group, Best Urban Artists, Best Pacific Song for ‘Paradise’ and nominee for Urban and Hip Hop Category Vodafone Music Awards 2012

A fan of such diverse artists as Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Deangelo, Daft Punk, Coldplay, Marvin Gaye, The Fugees and Pharcyde, GiantKilla's dance-toned tracks, encompassing subjects that range from partying to losing loved ones, are set to echo in the ears of all who hear them. Anchoring all this together is GiantKilla's incredible witty, vocal swag and smooth dance style.

Mixt Frequencies, a rap duo from South Auckland, bring a unique flavour of NZ hip-hop. Marvel & Kwest are two young MCs who’ve grown up with a love of hip-hop culture. While most 12 & 13 year old boys are outside kick’n it with friends at the park, riding their bikes, or at home on the PS3 these young ‘uns are working on their music.

Auckland Council’s Music in Parks 2013 programme features over 40 performances from January 2, 2012 – March 24, 2013.
