Fresh from playing Prana Festival DJ CHICA LICORICA is going to fire up the dance floor at Kawai Purapura, Albany on January 26.
Take a bite of LICORICA'S colorful assortment of world beats. Licorica specialises in Tropical Bass genres. Introducing the taste buds to the unique flavour of Latin America and beyond, Licorica mixes fresh fusion Cumbia and Reggaeton beats from Argentina and Colombia building up to stonking Brazilian Baile Funk, African Kuduro, Gypsy Balkan and Electro Swing. Licorica is part of the Radio Rebelde collective.
The vibe will be is deliciously alive, contagious and picante - musica con sabor! And the taste for that sabor is spreading quick, from producing collaborative events with various DJ's, VJ's, dancers and fire performers to playing festivals like Sundaise and V'Jing for the Nomad.
From her radio show for PBS FM in Melbourne and currently on Waiheke Radio to more adventurous outdoor venues like a top a valley of native bush during a Forest and Bird tree planting event Licorica consistently cooks up an exotic feet stomping, booty shaking stew that is sure to satisfy.
The night will kick off with an OPEN MIC session, open to all, followed by a performance by poet Gus Simonovic from Printable Reality's new show Insomnia in a Daydream, premiering at the Auckland Fringe Festival 2013.
Also making an appearance is world renowned tutor and master clown Ira Seidenstein, who is in NZ running Clown Culture workshops from January 19-25.
Then the night's festivities will set off with DJ Chica Licorica and her unique mix of Latin American dance grooves.
