Black Wings are an indigenous species of band that inhabit the lower part of the North Island of New Zealand. Black Wings like all kinds of shiny things and line their nests with found objects such as knives, chains and powerful motor vehicles to aid transportation to feeding grounds near the coast. The band is currently recording new songs for release sometime later in the year, depending on the weather, alignment of the planets, fluctuations in the dollar, and so forth.
Sound artist Man Alone is opening the show. Since 1993, Man Alone has been the solo-vent for multi-band music fanatic and minimalist, Rob Thorne. Man Alone has evolved musically over the last 20 years to include a variety of instruments. His experimentation with loops and other effects combine with words to create haunting performances Stripped back songs with an intense delivery
Black Wings and Man Alone would like to extend a heartfelt invitation to all to come along for a show that you may never see the likes of again at Mighty Mighty Bar in Cuba Street, Wellington. Birds of a feather flock together so come on down and fly around. Please arrive on time though, it's an early show and the early worm catches the bird.
