Gig Information

Luke Thompson and Lydia Cole are teaming up for an extensive tour of the homeland this April. The pair will take the road from Kerikeri to Dunedin, modern day troubadours visiting 11 intimate venues along the way – inns, sheds and roadside taverns. Tickets to these shows will be very limited.

“We’re really looking forward to taking this around the country” say the songwriters, “We’ve played many shows together and even recorded songs together but have still never been on tour. We’re looking forward to singing together every night and just seeing what happens. These nights will be very organic – acoustic pianos, guitars, trumpets, lap steel… a genuine night of word and song.”

Lydia released her stunning debut album Me and Moon last year to critical acclaim, a stripped-back collection of “Winningly vulnerable songs” which saw her shortlisted for 2012’s prestigious Silver Scroll song awards.

Luke’s latest album To the Common Dark was released in November as a free gift from his website www.lukethompsonmusic.com. The “Hauntingly beautiful” take on classic folk has seen the songwriter win hearts at home and abroad with thousands of downloads of the album within weeks of its release.

Don’t miss this chance to get up close and personal with two of this country’s most authentic talents.
