With the new track just out (Take You Higher - 25.03.13) and a new album on RAM in June, don't miss your chance to hear everything new that Wilkinson is bringing to us this year!
Hailing from the leafy suburbs of South West London is Ram Records; star: Mark Wilkinson. From annoying his parents at 9 with his first drum kit, Wilkinson then moved on to annoying the neighbours practicing with a few bands...
bands who reached the lofty heights of playing in old folks' homes and some other place in Birmingham.
With the age of 14 came the age of Wilkinson the DJ, after discovering how much he loved dance music (and a few other teenage boy things). A few years, a few part time jobs and a few family fights about bass later... Wilkinson saved his home's bass-loosened brickwork by finding a studio down the road.
After fine-tuning his production skills, Wilkinson passed a few songs on to Hospital Records via Cyantific, which led to his first release on Hospital Records.
Sick Music 2 compilation. A few months later Wilkinson sent a folder of tunes to Ram Records and within days received a phone call from the one and only Andy C inviting him for a meeting at the Ram Records HQ.
That pretty much nailed it. Now he makes music, makes a lot of flights and squeezes a lot of legs (the man is very tall) into airplane seats to come to places like NZ and blow us away.
There have been a bunch of releases, a bunch of remixes and here we are... For the heads who want the details, then read on:
October 2010 saw three of Wilkinson's songs featured on Andy C's Nightlife 5 album and releases including;Moonwalker/Samurai, Refuge, Get Into It and the mighty Everytime/Overdose, doing damage across dance- floors worldwide, winning fans from Skream, Fabio and High Contrast in the process.
Since then Mark has remixed Chase & Status top 5 single Time Takers and Example's new single Midnight Run, to much critical acclaim.
