FSR Promotions Presents:
FSR Promotions 1st Birthday
After a year of solid events featuring some of New Zealands best bass music DJs, Producers & MCs, FSR Promotions is turning 1!
Over the past year we have had the pleasure of hosting on a number great parties whether it be Down For Whatever, Concrete or Anything & Everything each one has been a roaring success.
As of this year we have showcased internationals artists OM UNIT (UK), TUNNIDGE (UK) and THE PROTOTYPES (UK).
A huge credit & thank you to all our DJs/MCs/venue owners who have stepped up and got on board as well as our friends, family, supporters & not to mention all the people who have attended our events!
FEATURING:
NEED FOR MIRRORS (UK) & MC TALI (NZ)
Need For Mirrors Otherwise known as Joe Moses & Emilio Dimitri have joined forces to create music which, in their own words, draws from all of their electronic music influences and reflects them back. An intriguing idea, but one that’s fraught with potential disaster; trying to mingle a million elements into one project can often sound messy. Instead, what you get is two producers with a wealth of experience stepping up and taking control of their sound. The final reflection, a Beautiful display of effort less electronica.

ALPHABETHEAD (WGTN)
Somewhere between the worlds of Hip Hop, Post Punk and Dubstep exists Alphabethead, a tea-drinking, turntable musician from Wellington. A performer equally adept at rocking boisterous Hip Hop crowds as he is to intriguing audiences at jazz festivals – Alphabethead has been described as “a virtuoso of the phonograph turntable” and “an outrageous performer whom you really must see to fully comprehend”.
Once New Zealand’s champion Hip Hop DJ, Alphabethead is now an explorer and destroyer of all sound-on-vinyl. From Mongolian throat singing and psychedelic guitars to field recordings and drum and bass – no LP is taboo. His performances always hold surprises and his unique approach allows him to coax wonderfully strange sounds from the turntable; “…a highlight was Alphabethead’s melodic turntable solo” wrote one reviewer. Expect noise, heavy beats and vinyl trashing. Imagine an aggressive Kid Koala or if Flying Lotus played heavy metal!
