Join the Bettys crew and DJ Speedy of Queenstown's ‘Free Funk Foundation’ for a night of boot-knocking good tunes and damn tasty cocktails with VJ Wanderer keeping the visuals fresh.
DJ Speedy (Paul Mason) is no stranger to the thrills and spills of life in the headphones. Playing professionally for well over a decade, his experience and selection has moved through many cycles and sounds. Speedy’s style has morphed through dub, roots, reggae and hip hop, to soul, funk, breaks and deep house. Often in the same set and all the while staying true to his roots. A warm, funky, groove driven sound.
Supporting the likes of The Nomad, Ladi6 and Parks, Pitch Black, Sunshine Sound System, D Dub, K-Lab, Black Planet and DJ Sinclair, Speedy has sat alongside the crème de la crème of Kiwi electronica.
If deep, phat beats with layers of funk and reggae is what you’re after, be sure to check him out. Hot, heavy and ready to take it back to where it all began.
