In celebration of their highly anticipated new album Delta, Shapeshifter announce a national tour throughout July.
Recorded in Berlin, Woodhill and Wellington and incorporating elements of the 'heavy soul' tempered with drum & bass, jazz and funk that fans have become accustomed to, Delta sees Shapeshifter stretch their palette even further, adding club tempo feels and other more slanted elements into the mix, while at the same time pushing the man/machine interface that drives their music to new heights. While there is possibly no such thing as a 'typical' Shapeshifter album, all of their output shares a common thread - a willingness to experiment above and beyond genre confines.
This July sees the band undertake a national tour and fans know to expect the dancefloor anthems that have given Shapeshifter their justifiably fearsome live reputation both at home and around the world.
In Christchurch, Dunedin, Auckland and Wellington, Shapeshifter will be supported by rising psychedelic funk rock outfit AHoriBuzz. In Hamilton and New Plymouth Downtown Brown will be on the decks.
