Celebrating New Zealand Music Month, Acoustic Routes is proud to present Rachel Dawick's 'The Boundary Riders- Musical Tales of NZ Pioneer Women' concert, as part of her national tour. Rachel will be accompanied by internationally acclaimed musician Jon Sanders and special guest artists Dave Kahn (The Broadsides) and Andy Laking (Grada). 'The Boundary Riders' follows the journey of a range of infamous characters, largely unknown in our history books. The songs are based on stories collected by Rachel that would slip easily into any Wild West adventure book. From prostitutes to missionary wives, goldminers to magicians, these beguiling tales of conquests, survival, persistence, and the merging of peoples and cultures from far distant lands who have all contributed to New Zealand as we know it today.

Among other things, Mary and Peter have been working on a small project to
develop their unique take on songs about the early settler communities in New
Zealand. As well as vocals and guitar work, they have been exploring
combinations such as banjo with dulcimer or kalimba which has led to
some unexpected musical delights that enable the more sensitive undertones of
the lyrics to come through. They hope that you will enjoy this sampler as much as they do.
