As part of the Fringe Festival, the Svens launch their new 50-song ‘magnum hopeless’ about New Zealand, land of laid-back catastrophe. The songs cover the many ways things go wrong in NZ. From bird wrecks to road wrecks, Pharaohs to fraud, scrum collapses to rogue arborists … it’s all in The Almanac.
The Svens are an 18 piece pop orchestra from Wellington. Their last fringe show – Songs From The Bottom of the Hilltop – played to packed houses.
This 80-minute show – at the Newtown Community Centre - features a string section, choir and wide screen multimedia show. To complete the experience, a special collectible edition of the songs packaged into a fly swat USB with a 100 pp book will be available on the night.
