Acoustic Routes and the Bluegrass Society are delighted to be able to present the only Wellington concert by Other Roads - Gregor Borland, Pete Abbott and Dave Walmisley, touring from the UK. This top-ranking trio, now with five albums to their name, draw upon their diverse musical backgrounds encompassing Scotland, England and Africa, to create an exciting sound of their own.
They are multi-instrumentalists, mixing fiddle, bouzouki, guitars, mandolin and harmonica with fine harmony singing. They perform an eclectic mix of older and original compositions, ranging from soft ballads to foot-stomping Celtic fiddle tunes in highly entertaining fashion.
Pete Abbott is a well-respected songwriter and guitarist and first class singer. Gregor Borland is a champion fiddler who has taught at fiddle camps and workshops from America to New Zealand. He toured New Zealand in 2012 with accordionist Sandy Brechin. Dave Walmisley, who plays guitar, bouzouki and mandolin, is also a songwriter with a wonderful on-stage personality.
