For our first show of 2014, Old Hall Gigs is coming to Aro Valley on the eve of the Aro Fair.
Dusky-voiced folk singer Nadia Reid will play a set befitting of the intimate surrounds of Aro Hall. Port-Chalmers raised, Nadia is now based in Wellington. Her music echoes songwriters such as Beth Orton and Laura Marling.
Musicologist Nick Tipping will get your ears in tune with a short talk, ‘How to Listen to a Drum Solo’, and jazz drummer Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa shows his skills on the skins in a solo performance.
Award-winning writer, theatre director, and performer, Jo Randerson is an integral part of the Wellington arts scene, and we're lucky to have her reading short stories at this Old Hall Gig.
Oh, and did we mention that Shalimar Dairy and Garage Project will be providing interval refreshments' Huzzah!
