Compton rapper YG has already established himself as one of the most exciting young Hip-Hop artists from the West Coast. Snatching badges on the Top 20 on Billboard Hot 100 charts, 500,000 single downloads in one month and over 21 million views on YouTube, building a dedicated following worldwide.
Having carved up a lane of his own in 2013 with his catchy single “My Nigga” featuring Jeezy and Rich Homie Quan, YG then went on to release a series of killer mixtapes before dropping his critically acclaimed major –debut album, My Krazy Life.
Released through historic Def Jam Records, My Krazy Life has garnered this LA-anthemist significant hype status around the globe. Working alongside LA’s beatcraft god DJ Mustard, the duo have received a solid nod from the likes of Pitchfork, “The opening fanfares on My Krazy Lifes tracks are gossamer but massive, like a blindside smack from a pillow.” The pair teamed up back in 2012 to work on YG-DJ Mustard mixtapes like “Just Re’d Up 2” and “4 Hunnid Degreez,” and continue to demonstrate a cohesive energy working together.
