Mareya is a recent graduate of the School of Pop (B.Mus Contemp music major), who has a history of winning talent quests as a high school student at Takapuna Grammar (yes, the school Lorde/Ella attended also) for 3 years in total, was the winner of the Mike Chunn Songwriting Award for two of those years, and the youngest competitor on the very first NZ Stars In Their Eyes, as Dido. Mareya is a prolific songwriter and performer, and her band and the sounds that they create are NZ pop/rock at its absolute best. About to leave our shores to pursue her music overseas, get along to see this amazing young talent before you can't do any longer.
Mareya is joined by Megan Sidwell, another talented young singer/songwriter from Tauranga - and a fellow student from Pop Music' School - where they both completed a Bachelor of Music (Contemporary music major) at Auckland University 2 years ago.
