It’s been said that all poets are frustrated musicians and Cliff Fell and John Newton plead ‘guilty as charged’.
John is the former front-man of Wellington alt-country band The Tenderizers.Cliff is an inveterate folkie and self-confessed Dylan freak. On stage together as The Adulterators, with slide-guitar master Josef Orlofsky, they rummage through the musical traditions which in subtle ways have shaped their poetry.
Expect original songs, new versions of old ones, and a generous sprinkling of poems and stories. You will never hear anything quite like it. In a good way!!
