Auckland newcomers Albi and The Wolves are striking out with one of their premiere shows at Ponsonby's Grand Central on Saturday 4th of October.
Their sound can only really be described as soul driven foot stomping' folk, the songs are filled with smooth groves and aggressive highs. A unique thing to be a part of indeed.
Their live shows are rambling and electric with crowed driven shenanigans and the instrumentation is tight and lively with members from all around the musical spectrum. Pascal Roggen is a well seasoned Auckland entity on the Fiddle. Matt Owens holds mesmerizing rhythms on the Banjo after parting with his previously prosperous project Landy and Co. Michael Young has been part of the backbone and foreground of the folk scene for many years across the country, though in this band he plays double bass. Finally Albi (Chris Dent) ties things together with guitar and vocals.
