Wellington's very own blues master is playing his first Wellington gig since 2013!
It's a chance to celebrate the release of 'Introducing Darren Watson', his first album since 2010's critically acclaimed 'Saint Hilda's Faithless Boy'.
Watson has had what he describes as an interesting time lately, with his single 'Planet Key' being removed from sale as it reached #5 on the Top 20 NZ Singles Chart, and banned from broadcast, both by order of the Electoral Commission. This led to a lot of high-profile media coverage, including prime-time TV news, and even a editorial in the Sydney Morning Herald! Of course it ultimately led to a legal battle in the High Court to fight for the song's right to exist outside of live performances.
