Monty Bevins is set to release his Come Back Here EP with a comprehensive 20 date nationwide tour this October and November. To keep it interesting he'll be united with a different artist in each island, for the north: amazing Wellington singer/songwriter Nikita, and the south: Amiria Grenell (Fly My Pretties IV, Tui 'Best Folk Album' 2012).
It's been a busy winter for Monty, having set out into the world of no fixed abode in April he's played shows from Kaka Point to Whangarei, supported Australian folk artist Christopher Coleman's NZ Tour through July, and found 2 weeks to record the Come Back Here EP with friend Michael Morris in an isolated crib in the Catlins. Throughout those 2 reclusive weeks, the outside world gave way to recording a brand new batch of raw acoustic songs, with heartfelt lyrics providing an honest glimpse into the life and experiences of this kiwi troubadour.
Being joined by such quality artists will ensure beautiful collaborative shows across the country at which you might find yourself sharing the view of this particular listener: Sometimes you stumble across a sound and a musician and go Why haven't I heard this before' Monty Bevins is one such artist. Living his music from venue to venue...genuine admiration for true grit as he offers up sounds all over NZ.
