May 17th 2014: Auckland institutions Whammy Bar and Wine Cellar played host to MUZAI Records' fifth anniversary show. It would also play host to the last MUZAI Records show for the foreseeable future as the label relocated to the United Kingdom.
Last Exit to MUZAI is a document not only of the night in question, but also a tribute to the bands that performed that special evening. Footage of acts performing that night, including The All Seeing Hand, Sunken Seas and long-standing act god bows to math, are interspersed with discussions about the label, it's foundations and the history of the bands on the label from founder Benjii Jackson.
A celebration of the “little independent label that could”, Last Exit to MUZAI brings the sights and sounds (but not the smells, sadly) of that one night in Auckland and acts as not only a nostalgia trip for those who attended, but an introduction to MUZAI Records to those who have only just happened upon them.
Featuring a Q and A with director Shane Warbrooke and a performance from god bows to math.
