G-EAZY TO PERFORM TWO NEW ZEALAND SHOWS IN FEBRUARY 2015

Robin Fernando and Flava are excited to announce the the slick West-Coast steez of multi-talented rapper, songwriter and producer G-Eazy to New Zealand. The Oakland CA local plays at Auckland’s Studio on 11 February and Wellington’s San Francisco Bath House on 12 February 2015.

Combining his now signature ‘50s-inspired styling with the kind of slow, emotive drawl only Drake can trump, G-Eazy works his tracks from bottom to top, building beats, singing and spitting quick quips with humour, passion and ease that lives up to his name.

Young G-Eazy (Gerald Earl Gillum to his professors) hit Loyola College for their acclaimed music programme, and began to cultivate and craft his own inimitable style while studying. Hunkering down in his dorm room, he’d be laying down tracks while other kids hit kegs. What he was working came to be a series of buzz-generating mixtapes, eventually culminating in his 2011 breakout, Endless Summer.

Garnering attention from both the mainstream and underground worlds, the hype escalated and he began to play to packed houses opening for his superstar forefathers Drake and Lil Wayne. 2012 saw the totally independent release of his full length LP Must Be Nice. Blending elegant production with a sly, slick, and smooth flow, the album landed at #3 on the US iTunes Hip Hop Chart completely independent of a label.

His combination of contemporary, melodic production, James Dean-style of dressing and undeniable talent as an MC saw G-Eazy quickly become a hot name on the tongues of hip hop fans and music media worldwide. Touring the US as part of Lil Wayne’s America’s Most Wanted Festival nationwide tour, he was winning over fans coast to coast.

A string of singles (including the club hits “Been On” and “I Mean It”) clocked millions of views online while the hype around his sophomore album These Things Happen grew fervent. The album dropped to reveal collaborations with such hip-hop alumni as A$AP Ferg, Rick Ross and French Montana, and soared to the top of the charts. In July 2014, G-Eazy was placed on MTV's Artist To Watch, following a successful worldwide sold-out tour and his top selling debut album.

G-Eazy continues to tour the album, and as his popularity grows he remains connected to his audience. “If the music inspires someone, that's incredible. It's about a deeper relationship with the listener that hopefully lasts a long time.” He’s a nice guy, looks like a hero from a Tarantino film, and raps like a boss. As if you needed any more convincing.
