A monthly event, jazz at The Realm's December 3rd gig features vocalist Ruth Armishaw
Chameleon of the Wellington music scene, over the last 14 years Ruth has built up a career as a full time musician, which she has achieved as a performer for hire, a music teacher, and a creator of artistic works.
With tertiary and post-graduate study in Vocal Jazz performance and a Performers Certificate in classical piano, and a musical upbringing from day one, Ruth's musicality is stronger than her years.
You might see her on stage with the chorus for NZ Opera, singing as a soloist for a regional choir or orchestral concert, or playing the flute in a Latino band. But most likely, she will be crooning from behind her keyboard in a cafe or restaurant near you, with her own trio Impostores (Brazilian music) or Jazz quartet, Ruth & the honest 3.
With the Pleasure Point Trio:
Nick Tipping - double bass
Bruce Brown - piano
Greg Crayford - drums
Come hear this fine band, fresh from the Hataitai 100 Year Celebration, burning the house down.
Two for one meals, great prices on drinks, awesome ambience. Free entry.
Bring your friend and your horn. Jamming positively encouraged.
