JAMIE MCDELL - Home for Christmas in MANGAWHAI will give an up-close and personal performance at the MANGAWHAI TAVERN Sat 27th Dec 8.30pm - On the deck in our garden area and open to all ages. Pre-sale $25.00

JAMIE: Hailing from MANGAWHAI and spending part of her childhood travelling the Mediterranean, you’d be hard pressed to find someone who understands summer better than JAMIE MCDELL.
With a collection of number 1 singles to her name and winning Best Pop Album at the 2013 New Zealand Music Awards, Jamie is making waves on and off the beach, and her plans for this summer are sure to lead to her riding some even bigger ones.
The new single “Crash” from her forthcoming album was inspired by the story of a friend, and showcases a different side to her song writing. “The production is definitely more edgy than I was used to but it all began to work once the lyrics and melody for the chorus came out. That raw edginess is very much representative of what the song is about.” The track also showcases how Jamie is inspired by everything and anything around her, an influence at the heart of every song on her new album titled, Ask Me Anything.

Ask Me Anything is Jamie’s second album, due to be released in February. An eclectic and honest mix of songs, the album tells the stories of the new places, people, and situations she’s experienced. Ask Me Anything takes Jamie’s music to the next level, experimenting with different styles of production while remaining true to her acoustic guitar roots that are perfect for jamming to at the bach.
Jamie is sharing the love this summer, as the official New Zealand ambassador for Wishbones, a socially responsible footwear company that donate a pair of antibacterial jandals to a child in need with every purchase.

With some special pop up shows planned over the next few months, and a tour announcement coming soon, 2015 is shaping up to be Jamie’s best summer yet!

JASON: has recently split from a ten year relationship with his five times platinum selling New Zealand band Opshop to redesign his career as a solo artist and hobbyist.
JK’s career has spanned several decades and is awash with accolades from his home country including nine Tuis (The New Zealand Music Awards). He has several nominations for the much coveted songwriters award the APRA Silver Scroll whilst also winning one year for the gorgeous ballad and now
classic kiwi tune One Day.

Not content to sit on his laureates JK has also turned his craftsmanship to writing and producing with other artists including The Babysitters Circus. With his help they became the first New Zealand group ever to
hit the penultimate spot of No.2 on The Nederland’s charts with the song Everything’s Gonna Be Alright. A tune now heard in stadiums across the world as desperate teams buoy themselves with courage on
the back of the rousing tune. JK calls his new solo music ‘Eclectic stomp pop with acoustic framing and digital renderings. Produced to tickle the soul, sing to the heart and at times, shake the hips.’ “The first single 'I Don’t CareWhat They Think' was written around the idea of empowering the individual to vote with their hearts and not just to follow a collectivist hivemind during election time in New Zealand whilst reflecting an everyday stroll through the day of JK. This eclectic sound is the start of the exploration of new musical frontiers for me. I’ve been in a guitar band for years and now I want to work out what those wobbly synths in the corner do as well as everything else. Its become the new hobby. I’m lovin’ it.”
'I Don’t Care What They Think' has been described by a fan on Soundcloud as ‘dubstep indie’ and by another as ‘good driving music’. JK aims to continue to explore more instruments and musical themes
by producing an EP every 6 months or so.

He has recently released his first batch of songs on an EP called #JKEP1. #JKEP1 is currently available for free for a limited time at soundcloud.com/jason-kerrison. Jason is currently touring in North America and expects to continue his inspired journey as a lonely acoustic guitar welding digitally looping troubadour in Australasia over summer.
