This January three fantastic Dunedin-based artists hit the road with a 7-show National tour.
In celebration of the release of Some Other Creatures self-titled EP, Ciaran McMeeken's 'The Valley', and Kylie Prices 'Wanderer//Wonderer' these three acts will be performing in Dunedin at Taste Merchants on Saturday the 7th of February with special guests Grawlixes, Hana Fahy, and Whaia Sol.
Some Other Creature is the solo project of New Zealand based alternative singer-songwriter Maddy Parkins-Craig. Fed up with the barrage of auto-tune and formulaic songwriting, Some Other Creature's music often move in unexpected directions and aligns itself with the traditions of Joni Mitchell, The Beatles and The Kinks.
Dunedin based singer song-writer Ciaran McMeeken has spent the past year hidden away writing and recording his music. First time listeners are blown away by the raw talent and the intensity of his voice and are emotionally drawn in by the honesty in his writing.
Kylie Price set out to stay true to the intimacy and minimal feel of country music, yet she is not a purist. Her eclectic personality shines through her songs, finding an outlet in the form of influences and expressions as diverse as alt country, blues and folk.
