2500kms from Cape Reinga to Stewart Island…on his bicycle!
Budding kiwi touring musician Monty Bevins is set to combine passions this summer with an epic 2 month nationwide tour on his bicycle from Feb 26 – April 25, covering more than 2500kms with over 20 dates booked throughout the country.
Monty’s been performing on the road (where he now resides) since November 2012, with 3 releases and several nationwide tours to show for it, including his latest Come Back Here EP Release Tour with Nikita & Amiria Grenell. Monty’s honest blend of folk/roots/soul is presented via an intricate looping craft honed over years of live gigs in every small town of NZ.
Monty will tow his AER/Taylor Mini/loop pedal and other bare essentials in a bob trailer 60km’s a day, playing 3 shows a week for what stands to be the greenest tour on earth. Having cycle toured from Auckland to Wellington at just 17 years old, completed a 4hr22 ‘Round Taupo’ time, and 14th placing in 2013’s Coast to Coast Longest Day, it’s a challenge Monty’s absolutely ready for!
