Gig Information

Americana Made in Europe
With the release of his 7th solo album, “Lucky Charm”, Swiss Singer-Songwriter Reto Burrell completes a musical circle by returning to the label that launched his career, Blue Rose Records.

After recording previous albums in Nashville, L.A. and New York, Burrell returned to his native Switzerland for his latest release, and put together a band with some of the finest musicians the country has to offer. Together, Burrell and his band deliver a take-no-prisoners attitude and skillfully manage to blend rock, pop, country, folk and blues into a style of Americana that would rival anything coming out of the United States.

Burrell’s new album has received rave reviews from some of most respected publications in music. Rolling Stone said: “Another great songwriter album by the Swiss with American roots”; Americana UK described the songs as: “Ten prime cuts of timeless roots-rock Americana”, and Tracks Magazine called him, “The Swiss Tom Petty”.

Reto Burrell is no stranger to these kinds of accolades, which have been heaped on him since the release of his first album, “Echo Park”, in 2001. His success has allowed him to work with some of the finest professionals in the music industry. His 2010 album, “Go”, was recorded in L.A with three time Grammy winning producer, Chris Testa (Paul Simon, Pink, Dixie Chicks, Willie Nelson), and the follow up in 2012, “Sunshine & Snow” was produced in Nashville by Country Music Association Producer of the Year, Greg Droman (Fleetwood Mac, Emmylou Harris, Lee Ann Womack, Faith Hill), and featured musicians such as eight time Bluegrass Guitarist of the Year, Bryan Sutton, and legendary fiddle player, Aubrey Haynie. Burrell is no slouch in the production and playing department himself and has written, produced and played on albums for numerous artists in Switzerland

As an accomplished performer, Burrell has become a permanent fixture on the live music scene having played hundreds of shows all over Europe, and is now starting to expand his horizons to other parts of the world. Burrell says he relishes the challenge of playing his songs before new audiences, and is hoping to add a little extra spice to the growing Americana scene, which is rapidly becoming the hottest genre in music today His tour of New Zealand, scheduled to start in May, will be the first time Reto has brought his brand of roots-rock Americana to the Southern Hemisphere, but it surely won’t be the last.
