Nicole is a self-taught pianist and singer from Portland Oregon, now living in Wellington. Her eclectic debut album, In the Shallows, is a collection of introspective songs with echoes of Tori Amos, PJ Harvey and Massive Attack.
For this one night only, Nicole will perform songs from the album with a three piece band and a string trio.
The album was self-produced by Nicole Andrews with the support of Creative New Zealand and features the work of many great Kiwi musicians including David Long (The Mutton Birds), Andrew Bain (Fur Patrol), Daniel Ryland (Sorceress and Odessa), Thomas Voyce (Rhombus), Reuben Bradley and Lance Philip. Recorded at Surgery Studios by Lee Prebble and mastered at Munki Studios by Mike Gibson.
$10 entry at MOON on Sunday, 26 April 2015.
Nicole's band for this evening at Moon will consist of: Lance Philip (drums), Callum Allardice (guitar), Rom Smith (bass), Margaret Guldborg (cello), Christian van der Zee (viola) and Konstanze Artmann (violin).
