The Koru Quintet unites five of Auckland’s leading wind players in a dynamic ensemble which performs music that speaks to audiences with relevance, empathy and passion. Comprised of musicians from the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, the quintet has shared their enthusiasm for chamber music with audiences around Auckland over the past 15 years.
In this concert they present the best of the wind quintet’s repertoire with music by Gershwin, Bozza, Ibert, Arnold and Ligeti.
The Koru Quintet’s camaraderie and energy provides a colourful accompaniment to the music. The members are:
James Fry – clarinet
Ingrid Hagan – bassoon
Bede Hanley – oboe
Kathryn Moorhead – flute
Simon Williams – horn
