Having worked with Kiwi greats like Dave Dobbyn, Don McGlashen, Tiki Taane, and John Psathas you're in for a treat with Afro funk jazz drummer Rick Cranson leading on improv.
After graduating, Rick lectured for a while then went overseas in 2001 for further experience, studying traditional drum techniques in Ghana and then on to London, where he played with groups ranging from funk and jazz to experimental music.
When he returned to New Zealand in 2004 he formed psychedelic rock group Little Bushman which has released a number of recordings and played at both New Zealand and Australian Festivals. A highlight was performing and recording in collaboration with John Psathas, with both the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra.
