The Wellington Jazz Festival (4-7 June) is an event of true international standard offering a broad jazz palette of leading international and New Zealand jazz artists ~ we are delighted to see the return of Niko Ne Zna to Matterhorn as part of our programme for that music-filled weekend.
Niko Ne Zna are New Zealand’s very own Balkan Gypsy brass extravaganza. With a history that goes back seven years, this nine piece band has evolved into a true Gypsy juggernaut, stunning audiences with their thrillingly energetic and dynamic performances. Recently performing at World of Wearable Arts, Nelson Arts Festival and Splore, they also have three songs featuring on Taika Waititi and Jermaine Clement's vampire mockumentry What We Do in The Shadows released in 2014. Niko Ne Zna are a world class act with exotic tunes, fantastic grooves and exciting solos. They bring a part like no other and we can't wait to have them back as part of our jazz festivities.
