Everclear New Zealand Tour 2015 In Honour Of ‘Sparkle & Fade’
The Rock FM & The Artist Agency presents the triumphant return of U.S. power pop heavyweights Everclear! To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the smash hit album Sparkle and Fade.
The tour will include a full live performance of Sparkle & Fade — which also included the bands well-known singles Santa Monica, Heroin Girl & Heartspark Dollarsign— as well as a selection of hits and fan favourites from throughout their storied career, including from this years forthcoming ninth studio album, Black Is The New Black, which is released in New Zealand on April 29.
There is such a buzz of enthusiasm for our new album … its an unapologetic rock record that I feel combines the best of classic Everclear with contemporary production and what I feel is some of my best song writing in years, frontman Art Alexakis said in a statement. Hopefully, when played next to the full spread of goods offered on Sparkle & Fade, well see this fact demonstrated comprehensively when the band touch down to celebrate their past and highlight their future.
Lead by founder & songwriter Art Alexakis, Everclear blazed a trail through the 90s with their infectious hooks and articulate lyrical content, scoring multiple smash hits and galvanising a generation of long-time fans.
The bands hits include; Heroin Girl, Santa Monica, Everything to Everyone, I Will Buy You A New Life, Father of Mine, Wonderful, & AM Radio to name a few.
This is the first time Everclear will perform their new songs in front of a live audience so New Zealand holds a special place for Everclear. “I love New Zealand, I love the people, the country and everything about it, I cant wait to get back down there and play again, we had a blast last time round in 2012, so we are coming back to NZ first before the rest of the world” says Art.
The band will get started at Studio The Venue on K’rd in Auckland on Friday 1 May, then on Sunday 3 May at Bodega in Wellington, then Tuesday 5 May at Allen Street Rock Club in Christchurch, with tickets for all shows on sale NOW.
