Yes. The Wellington Sea Shanty Society is doing it again. On Monday June 29 they will release another collection of salty sea shanties!
And they're playing a swag of shows to celebrate! Come grab a shanty sheet and sing along to your favourite songs of sperm (whales), and seamen...
They're (loot-dependent) sailing (fly) to France in July to do a shanty tour with their 'hearties' Croche Dedans, so come to a show and/or buy an album to help them get to Brittany and show them their shanties!
This time they've written 5 original shanties about such historical figures as: Young Nick (famous head), Sam Parnell (8 hour working day), Hori Waiti (Pakeha Maori), Jacky Marmon ('Cannibal Jack').
Plus some old classics!
