Southern Cross Garden Bar Restaurant are excited to present Sunday School Sessions - seven Sundays showcasing Wellington's finest and freshest musical talent from local music schools. Every Sunday from 19th July - 6th September (except Sunday 9th August due to our monthly Salsa sessions), there'll be a different group of talented musician's doing their thing on the dance floor between 4:30-6:30pm.
This is about showcasing some of the amazing talent coming out of Wellington's music schools, and giving these students the experience and opportunity to perform a paid gig to the public. Come support their endeavours and hear some sweet sweet tunes. Entry will be free of course, and we'll have a couple of food specials on (with a discount for students with ID) as well our Sunday roast from 5pm (with a free brownie or coffee).

DUCHESS & THE ALLEY CATS
What's a little swinger like you doing on our side of town' Come on down to the Southern Cross, Sunday 2nd of August to swing like you've never swung before! From 4.30pm-6.30pm Duchess and the Alley Cats will be playin' their paws out to ensure your Sunday afternoon is paw-sitively claw-some!
Duchess and the Alley Cats are a Wellington group that consist of four meow-sicians, all currently studying jazz at the NZSM...Alexander Boulton on guitar and banjo, Ollie Bomann on double bass, Jeremy Richardson on drums and Lauren Armstrong on vocals. The band will have their claws sunk into a fine selection of tasty tunes ranging from Dixie to early Swing.
So put on your best bow tie, your dancing shoes, make sure those whiskers are groomed and come on down to the Cross to ensure for a puuuurfect Sunday afternoon. And if that hasn't purrrsuaded you enough, there will also be student meal deals! Hope to see ya'll there, tell your friend's, family and any strays you may meet on the way!
