Shayne P Carter LOVES writing about himself in the third person and especially recounting that fabled night almost ten years ago when he was presented with the BNet Male Fox AND Lifetime Achievement award in the one night, collecting these from then PM Helen Clark and her security men while ill-advisedly under the influence of illegal substances and standing in front of several hundred people at the town hall. This chapter shall be extrapolated and pondered heavily upon in his book. He has also written a couple of hundred songs for bands like the DoubleHappys, Straitjacket Fits and Dimmer and has recently finished recording a solo album on the unfamiliar instrument of piano. He's played several solo shows recently without using backing tapes or loop pedals figuring if it was good enough for John Lee Hooker, then it's probably good enough for him. He seems like a pretty cool guy. Cheers.
Julia Deans is NOT so keen on writing about herself, but will begrudgingly jot a couple of sentences down about her exploits in pop'n'roll (Fur Patrol, The Adults), and her choice-as solo album Modern Fables. Whilst beavering away on a new album, Ms Deans has been dabbling in the dark arts of theatre-y music (BREL, Jesus Christ Superstar) and memorised a biblical-tonnage of Joni Mitchell lyrics (Both Sides Now). She would gloat about her bNet Fox award too, but it wasn't delivered by Helen Clark so she'll just shut up about that and mention instead that she can sing real good.
