Kiwi songsters Charlotte Yates and Paddy Burgin bring their songs to the stage in this family friendly intimate and retro venue. Poet Charlotte Yates, she of Baxter, Tuwhare, and Ihemira Arts Festival Productions fame and much much more will be accompanied by long time musical collaborator Gil Eva Craig on bass, Guitalele and B flat horn. Expect cool songs with lots of chords and lots of material from her latest album, Archipelago. Here's a recent bit of Charlotte: http://www.charlotteyates.com/listen.htm
Paddy Burgin and the Wooden Box Band is a six piece electric and eclectic urban folk band featuring his own material but also that of writer Jessie Moss who shares the vocal load. Other members of the band have been press ganged from the Balkanistas, Newtown Rock Steady, and the Mockers. Expect trumpet, guitars, fiddle, and lots of harmonies. Occasionally known for also revitalising the odd tune by Gram Parsons, First Aid Kit, or Joe Henry.
Here's a track from our latest album Old World. https://soundcloud.com/paddy-burgin/song-of-the-south-island-river
Comfy chairs. Comfy music (mostly). Cool venue. Bring along something to drink and a snack or two and relax and let the music take you somewhere else.
