Gig Information

The Unseen Mechanised Eye & Birds of Passage @ Clarence St Theatre.

The Unseen Mechanised Eye is an audio-visual performance ensemble featuring Rob Thorne (Taonga Puoro), Kent Macpherson (Drone machines), Yotam Levy (Cello), Paul Nelson (Visuals) & Dan Reese (Mixing). A sonic experience of minimal, droning avant-classical soundscapes.
The ensemble evoke an immersive experience, drawing imagery from their ancestors through the hypnotic sound of ancient Maori musical instruments, alongside contemporary electronic manipulation and looped cello.

Birds of Passage is the ambient, minimalist, experimental music project of Alicia Merz.
“There is a deep sense of intimacy shared between listener and composer as Merz “truly whispers” to each and every person who is fortunate enough to cross paths with her… While exploring the dense maze-like patterns of her music we identify our own deepest hopes, fears and dreams — and learn something about ourselves — in the process.” – Fractured Air.
