Gig Information

Jerron “Blind Boy” Paxton, American multi-instrumentalist blues musician and vocalist, plays banjo, piano and violin and his musical influences are mainly rooted in the early blues from the 1920′s and 30′s. Jerron’s family, originally from Louisiana, moved to LA in the 50′s where he grew up before moving to New York city in 2007, where he currently resides.

JERRON “BLIND BOY” PAXTON: POSTPONED until Monday 14th March 7pm Doors.

“On the long flight over here, I seem to have left my voice on the plane. I have spoken to the airline and they say they will have it back to me by Monday. I am sorry for the inconvenience and really don’t want to let anyone down. I hope you can all make it on Monday and we will have a great time.” Jerron “Blind Boy” Paxton

All tickets for the show will be valid for the rescheduled date on Monday 14th March, for anyone unable to attend the new date please contact your point of sale for a refund.
Please accept our sincerest apologies.

Although only in his 20s, Jerron Blind Boy Paxton has earned a reputation for transporting audiences back to the 1920's and making them wish they could stay there for good. This young musician who also plays guitar, fiddle, harmonica, Cajun accordion, and the bones (percussion) has an eerie ability to transform traditional jazz, blues, folk, and country into the here and now, and make it real. In addition, he mesmerizes audiences with his humour and storytelling.

Paxton is a world class talent and a uniquely colourful character who has been on the cover of Living Blues Magazine and the Village Voice, and has been interviewed on FOX News. With a strong interest in blues and jazz music from World War II, Paxton's sound is influenced by the likes of Fats Waller and Blind Lemon Jefferson. According to Will Friedwald in the Wall Street Journal, Paxton is virtually the only music-maker of his generation — playing guitar, banjo, piano and violin, among other implements — to fully assimilate the blues idiom of the 1920s and ‘30s”.

Other NZ dates on the tour:

Friday 11 March - Lyttelton @ The Naval Point Club
Saturday 12 March - Wellington @ Bodega
Sunday 13 March - Havelock North @ Black Barn
