Melbourne’s Basement Spaceman bring their live show back to New Zealand to celebrate the release of the new EP (BS2). The 5 track EP continues with more perfectly formed minimalistic space rock.
Basement Spaceman’s debut album landed in 2014 and received some very healthy airplay on Melbourne’s RRR, PBS and ABC National’s ‘Inner Sleeve’.
Jonathon Alley (ABC) has described it as “left-of-field rhythms covered with lovely acoustic performances, great singing and beautiful songwriting” while RRR’s Neil Rodgers simply described it as “a brilliant record”.
The new EP has made an impact further afield being playlisted in NSW, SA and Queensland. Adelaide’s 3D Radio named BS2 as feature of the week in January. The band also performed a blistering live set for Melbourne’s 3RRR ‘Livewire’ as well as being presented on some pretty popular station shows like ‘Under the Sun’ and ‘Breakfasters’.
Both the EP and LP feature cover art by renowned Australian artist Rod Gray.
“A tight group that forms a distinctive sound that is harmonic, other-worldly and extremely musical for an unapologetically indie outfit”
BS will be joined by special guest AJ Bell
