The Craic with De Staic an Evening Of Storiesm Songs and Shite-talk with Aindrias De Staic
Blue Smoke invites you to this theatre show with a difference, it will be seated but casual..
Following phenomenal success at Ireland festivals and city venues, award winning entertainer, Aindrias de Staic, brings a Wallop of Wild Atlantic Wit to New Zealand.
The quirky TV presenter and comic storyteller brings his music-comedy-storytelling spectacle to Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown, following his appearance at this year's Coastella Festival.
Don't miss the return of the man behind the show, Around the World on 80 Quid - 2008 Nominee for Most Outstanding Performer at the Dunedin Festival Fringe and Winner of Best Solo Show at the New Zealand Festival Fringe.
Aindrias’ rich n' rare style of fiddle playing is as unique to the west of Ireland as his storytelling, antics and humour. Described as a wild-eyed shock of Celtic unpredictability,” he blends stories with a range of Italian, Greek and gypsy music. Armed with only a fiddle, a loop pedal and epic storytelling, the characteristic magnetism of this vagabond raconteur won over the hipsters and entertained the masses back home to standing ovations and rave reviews.
Aindrias has enjoyed widespread success with his latest one-man endeavor - a huge hit with sold-out shows at Cobblestones and Whelan's in Dublin, the Westport Arts Festival, the Vodafone Comedy Carnival in Galway, and most recently at Dublin's Grand Social during the Five Lamps Arts Festival.
Catch the craic with de Staic when he treats audiences to an extraordinary evening of music, magic and mayhem!
“The performance is half seanchaí, half shaman, half Fiddler of Dooney with a whallop of Flann O’Brien thrown into the mix for good measure.”
- Philip Dunne, state.ie
With his brilliant blend of classic Irish comedy and unique musical talent, Aindrias de Staic provides for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
- Brendan McDonald, The Herald Sun, Melbourne
... exquisite, picaresque. Rarely has storytelling been so foot-tappingly funny.
- Nick Awde, Theatre Guide, London
This is a surreal stand-up creative experience as you have never seen it before. It is an art form that is individual, and unique to Aindrias de Staic.
- Seamus Ruttledge, Tuam poet and songwriter
