A true NZ jazz super-group, Melancholy Babes are a trio featuring three of the best jazz musicians of recent years. Jeff Henderson (Sax), Tom Callwood (Bass) and Ant Donaldson (Drums) are mature and skillful improvisers, who seemingly capture and manipulate notes from the surrounding atmosphere, and then play them like each note matters more than the last.
Their years of experience allow them a portal into the deepest realms of jazz, where melodic explosions are frequent and impossible to deny.
