Bodega proudly presents...
After a year in the making Towers are set to release their debut EP Brontide. Described as a nostalgic dreamland, Brontide was recorded and produced in Australia's Gold Coast. Towers will take the stage for the first time in over 6 months, exploring a visceral narrative of loss, touching on wasted youth and fear of a life lived unfulfilled.
UK based Kiwi songstress Clara van Wel supports the 5 piece in a very special one-night-only showing.
ABOUT THE EP
Brontide is a nostalgic dreamland, a sonic playground for imagination and creativity. Each track explores this common thread as the record shifts slowly from darkness to light. A visceral sense of loss runs throughout the records narrative touching on wasted youth and fear of a life lived unfulfilled.
The EP’s soundscape is a bringing together of our acoustic dog-days and our developing preoccupation with synthesized and electronic elements. Cinematic percussion alongside the relentless drive of acoustic guitars give Brontide movement and life allowing dual female and male vocals to take centre stage.
Brontide means 'the distant rumbling of thunder'. We came up with the name just after finishing work on what is now the opening track of the EP 'Supernova', because the track had a darkness and maturity to it that we felt was new to us. We were heavily inspired by weather throughout the writing and recording process, a lot of the sounds in the record act as musical interpretations of thunder, rain, sunlight, snow and wind.
