Bring your instruments and join the acoustic jams at the tribal zone or Village market.

Workshops: Empowering & interactive workshops cover a wide range of topics such as sacred geometry, ancient mysteries, permaculture, quantum science, yoga, aikido, holistic health, african drumming, dance, performing arts, traditional crafts and lots more. A range of enlightening movies and documentaries screen nightly.

The Circus Space hosts spectacular glo & fire shows and stage performances, and also offers a rich variety of workshops on everything from poi, juggling, hulahoop, dragon staff to aerials, acrobalance and slackline.

Healing: A wide range of alternative therapies can be found at Hauora (Healing Hub) including massage and various forms of body work.

The Village Market: is bustling with a vast range of healthy food and unique clothes, jewellery, arts & crafts. Enjoy the performers on the Village stage while you refuel with delicious, nourishing meals and tasty treats. All cafes run by Luminate, including the popular earth-fired pizza oven, are vegetarian and Organic.

Ecological initiatives: permeate all strands of the Luminate experience and have been fundamental to the festival’s ethos from the beginning in 2008. Expect to pack out all that you bring as there are no rubbish bins or recycling at the event, and either bring your own plate & cup or hire ceramics for buying your food, as disposables are not allowed – these have been amazingly successful strategies to avoid rubbish being created in the first place. Eco amenities include composting toilets and solar showers.

Camping: There’s plenty of space for friends and family to camp together, and quiet places too. Rolling grassland surrounded by native beech forest and limestone outcrops is an enchanting environment. Bring your bicycles to cruise between the camping and event site.

Family friendly: Alongside workshops & circus arts, there are lots of other activities for children including entertainers, games, storytelling, arts, crafts and other fun things. Luminate is a non alcohol event.

Timing: Inspired by the ancient seasonal festival of Lughnasadgh (“Lunasa”), Luminate is midway between the summer solstice and autumn equinox, when our ancestors would gather together to share inspiration, learning and celebration, giving thanks to mother earth for the abundance of the harvest.
