Caroline Proudly Presents:

Shuedet:

Wellington multi-instrumentalist Thom King juxtaposes rich ambient textures with compelling organic rhythms, thunderous sub-bass and his own airy voice. As a classically trained violist, his passion for immersive sound developed whilst playing in orchestras. Shuedet draws on this influence, combining it with the physicality of bass music, to dive deep into subterranean electronic soundscapes.

The night is a way of celebrating the release of the recent Permutations EP on vinyl, a project developed to extend his capabilities for digitally enhanced performance using stringed instruments, vocals, sequencers and field recordings.

Blaek:

Wellington local and classically trained vocal virtuoso Rose Blake (Blaek) steps into new territory with her exploration of the electronic music world. With strong connections to folk music from being a member in groups Pales and Ida Lune Rose brings a wealth of musical knowledge to this project. Blaek’s music is detailed, emotive, delicate, and all the while still maintains an immaculate and distinct production signature courtesy of her musical collaborator – a local producer who shall remain anonymous.

Blaek’s debut release is on the horizon and contains some exciting and fresh pieces of music that successfully encompasses a number of stylistic sensibilities and stand strongly and uniquely amongst the plethora of new electronic-based music available today.

Scent:

A Wellington producer and DJ whose name implies that there is more to music than just listening. That music can stimulate all of the senses. Feel it. See it. Close your eyes and go on a journey. From bass heavy electronica, to ambient textures, Scent brings his own tunes on dubplate, and a unique taste to an ever changing scene. Strictly vinyl.

Bloom AV:

Visuals for the night will be provided by Melbourne's Bloom AV, a collective of like-minded artists who share the common goal of exploring the boundaries of frequency manipulation and composition. Video footage of organic textures, along with hand drawn illustration, is mapped onto higher-dimensional geometries that react to audio in real time.
