WORD Christchurch Writers & Readers Festival presents ‘In Love With These Times: A Flying Nun Celebration’.
Some 35 years ago in Christchurch, the legend of Flying Nun — New Zealand’s most internationally recognized and acclaimed music label — was born. To celebrate the publication of founder Roger Shepherd’s new memoir In Love with These Times: My Life with Flying Nun Records, key Flying Nun figures from over the years gather to talk, argue and play some hits. Joining Roger will be musical geniuses Graeme Downes (The Verlaines), Jay Clarkson (Breathing Cage, The Expendables), Bruce Russell (Dead C) and Hollie Fullbrook (Tiny Ruins) and the night will be held together by Russell Brown. This unique event in New Zealand’s musical landscape is not to be missed.
