South London’s Al Dobson Jr. is a producer, selector, composer, percussionist, vibist, chef & barber exploring rhythmic expressionist. His impeccably crafted beats exist somehwere between genres, not only referencing hip-hop and jazz, but also boogie and house music.
ADJs early output came to light on 22a and Izwid, and set the tone for his epic Rye Lane series on the now infamous Rhythm Section International, also home to the likes of Chaos in the CBD, Bradley Zero, and Hidden Spheres.
His freeform approach to production means his music sounds organic, distinctively percussive, and uniquely enjoyable. Strange Behaviour and Matterhorn are therefore incredibly excited to bring the sound of Peckham to Wellington for his only NZ show.

As usual at SB, we’ve gathered together a bunch of our local faves for the support line-up, with a live set of new and unreleased material from Cave Circles, and some vinyl heaters from Mongo Skato, Borrowed CS, and the SBDJs.

Strange Behaviour are well into their second year of existence, having brought you shows from Bicep, Seven Davis Jr., DJ Sotofett, Lefto, Harvey Sutherland, Inkswel, Manuel Darquart, Ügly Disco, Iron Curtis, Frank Booker, Dicky Trisco, Henri Le Blanc, Session Victim, and Chaos in the CBD. Our policy is really simple, only bring through the acts you buy on vinyl or follow religiously, because there isn’t any money to be made in this game, and for us it’s all about making memories.
Good vibes guaranteed – Boosted sound system – Lush environment – Rad people
