Re:Fuel hosts Australian world/psych/kraut rockers Chesta Hedron (Byron Bay) on their first NZ tour supported in Dunedin by The Rothmans.
Chesta Hedron draw upon influences from psychedelia, krautrock, 70's Arabian fuzzy pop, Carl Sagan, and tales of vanished civilizations, to form their own energetic and sonic dimension.
Emerging from Byron Bay, Australia, Chesta Hedron is a 2-piece instrumental collaboration between drummer Eli Kalaitzides and ex-Dunedin guitarist Matthew Armitage.
The band’s first EP, Infinite Nought, released on the 20th April 2016 features an array of heavy riffs, dark drones and colourful ebbs and flows.
“…surf-rock surge, a stoner rock dirge, a psych rock purge…” - Sonic Masala
“Their sound can be described, in my words, as the music Pharaoh would listen to if his parents where Patti Smith and Roky Erickson and for some reason, he was born in the last 30 years but was still the Pharaoh of Egypt.” - Sidelife
Having performed their psychedelic jams consistently over the last 2 years between Northern New South Wales and Queensland, Chesta Hedron bring their expressive sonic ritual to New Zealand for a series of shows.
