Our special guest this month at folk club is the wonderful Vikki Clayton.
She's been described as “unbelievably talented” by Folk Roots magazine and regarded as one of the finest singers of her generation, Vikki is a performer of many parts with a proven track record. Her voice is clear, sweet and beautiful, the guitar work astounding. She's sensitive, clever, witty and great fun.
Dave Pegg of Fairport Convention also described her as “the closest thing to Sandy Denny”, and she worked and toured with the band for many years.
Now a New Zealand resident, Vikki is equally at home at both large scale festivals and small folk clubs and has eight solo albums, plus a new release “Messenger”.
We'll also be kicking off folk club the way we like, with floor singers for the first half. Followed by a raffle drawn at the interval (tickets free with entry fee).
